Mission

About us

1992 - The company, Miguel Caballero, was founded in Bogota, Colombia in direct response to the needs of personal protection and security.

1993 - The first product line was introduced at a Leather Show in Bogota..

1994 - Miguel Caballero investigated technologies and focused on providing products with superior performance capabilities.

1995 - The company was legally constituted and fully registered.

1996 - Miguel Caballero participated in itʼs first contract tender, finishing first with the best product to comply with N.I.J. certification.

1997 - Major improvements were developed with regards to weight reduction, material quality, and finished products.

1998 - Market expansion throughout South America and international company recognition.

1999 - Internal reorganization towards expansion of markets and financial resources.

2001 - Miguel Caballero awarded the N.I.J.01.04 test certification by the National Institute of Justice.

2002 - Strategic alliances with leading international security firms were established.

2003 - Miguel Caballero celebrates itʼs 10th anniversary.

2004 - Mass Media recognition of Miguel Caballero. Including documentaries about the company on The Discovery Channel and The History Channel.

2005 - Miguel Caballero opens itʼs first branch outside Colombia.

2006 - Miguel Caballero Boutique Shop opens in Mexico City selling bulletproof garments.

2008 - High design, bulletproof clothing introduced to markets in Russia, Europe, and the Middle East via a remarkable ally: HARRODS.

2009 - Miguel Caballero opens a new and modern 3000 sq meter factory in Colombia; increasing production by 70%.
